Münster (SMS) On Friday, October 4th, the Nature and Environmental Protection Academy of North Rhine-Westphalia honored 37 schools from the Münster administrative district – including ten from Münster – for their contributions to education for sustainable development (ESD). Four educational networks also received prizes as part of the state program “School of the Future”. The award winners received their awards in the town hall ballroom. Münster’s head of sustainability, Arno Minas, and Elke Reichert, President of the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection (LANUV), welcomed the guests.
The schools and networks have dealt intensively with ecological, economic, social, political and cultural aspects of sustainable development and are thus making an important contribution to shaping the future. This year, the Waldschule Kinderhaus, the Paulinum Gymnasium, Schillergymnasium and Ratsgymnasium, Friedensschule, Pascal-Gymnasium, Wilhelm-Hittorf-Gymnasium, Adolph-Kolping-Berufskolleg, Overberg-Kolleg and Mathilde Anneke hold the title “School of the Future” in Münster Comprehensive school.
Following the award ceremony, a creative market showed how education for sustainable development can be integrated into everyday school life.
