City of Lille Takes Measures in Response to Violent Winds in Nord Department, Issues Advice for Residents

The City took measures following an alert for violent winds in the Nord department, this Monday, January 22.

Closure of equipment

Due to gusty winds, outdoor sports facilities are closed this Monday, January 22 until noon. The opening of parks and gardens will be delayed and cemeteries will be closed all day.

Reopenings will take place gradually once the weather alert is lifted and site condition checks have been carried out.

The Municipal Police are listening to residents who notice damage, and can be reached on 03 20 49 56 66.

Advice for Lille residents

  • If possible, limit your travel.
  • Limit your speed on roads and motorways, particularly if you are driving a vehicle or vehicle sensitive to the effects of wind.
