Cologne | As in the past 2 years, the city of Cologne is again awarding work and research grants in the field of music this year. According to the city, the scholarships are intended to promote artistic and scientific research. A prerequisite for the award is proof of several years of musical activity in the field of improvisation, interpretation, composition or program design.
The amount of the scholarship depends on the duration of the work project and ranges from 3,000 to 9,000 euros, with support of 1,500 euros per month being provided. A total of 100,000 euros is available for 2023. The results of the work must be submitted to the cultural office in the form of a report 6 weeks after the end of the grant.
The description of a planned work project over a period of at least two and a maximum of six months must be submitted. The project can include preparatory work such as research, travel and research.
The application is made via the online funding portal. The application should be supplemented with a curriculum vitae including a list of several years of artistic activity and an informal description of the work and research project including a timetable.
The application period ends on April 30th. The earliest possible start of the scholarship is July 1st.
