City of [City Name] Receives 2nd Marianne d’Or for Sustainable Development and Urban Planning

As the City prepares to receive a 2nd Marianne d’Or (previous in 2016), the mayor, Philippe Cochet commented: “It’s just exceptional when you know how much this distinction is coveted. It is not a surprise, but it is once again our voluntarist policy in terms of sustainable development and reasoned urban planning, which finds its expression in the Sustainable construction contract, which caught the attention of the jury. This is tremendous recognition and we are very proud of it. “The CCD had already won the municipality the Trophy of Mayors” – town planning – last July.

The city councilor also underlined the refusal of his municipality to “see our country continue to sink into chaos. Listing the abuses of recent days, he summarized: “Unfortunately, this situation does not surprise us and the mayors of France have been warning for years about the deterioration of our society. It will be necessary to draw, when the time comes, all the conclusions in terms of national public policies. In the meantime, we enjoin the State, responsible for maintaining order and whose vocation is to protect society, to restore security by all the means at its disposal. »

It was then to the forces of order and the firefighters, in particular the municipal police officers, that he paid tribute: “The security assistant and myself were this weekend at the checkpoint of the Supervision Center urban and on the ground […] These acts of violence by a minority are unacceptable and primarily penalize all the inhabitants. […] Violence is never a solution. »

And to challenge: “The mayors of France therefore call first on the State to restore the republican order […] and also to a civic mobilization of society for the respect of the Republic and of France. »

Finally, he announced some good news: the day after the very successful picnic on the Voie Vertem bringing together around 270 people, the report on the Voie Lyonnaise 7 consultation was deferred until Messrs. Bernard and Bagnon (president and vice-president of the Metropolis) “develop a new acceptable project”.
