From November 22 to 28, the international military exercise “City of Black Angels” will take place in Rankiu Parish, Kuldiga County, at the “Mežaine” military training ground, to train the capabilities of allies and National Guard units for joint performance of tasks.
In the exercise, soldiers and guardsmen of the National Armed Forces from the 4th Kurzeme Brigades of the National Guard, together with a company of the Armed Forces of the French Republic, will conduct joint tactical exercises for the first time – they will train military combat environment procedures for occupying an object in a built-up area and providing host country support, including tested standard operation plans of allies for reception in the territory of Latvia. Such exercises play an essential role in practically strengthening the mutual cooperation of units for the performance of defense tasks.

The movement of Latvian and allied soldiers and military equipment will take place in the military training ground “Mežaine” in Ranķu parish of Kuldīgas county.
The National Armed Forces appeals to the citizens to treat the military exercises with understanding, as they are aimed at improving our national defense capabilities and strengthening regional security.
