Ilkay Gündogan would agree to a decision to award Liverpool the title in England should football no longer be played this season. That seems to be the most fair solution for the Manchester City midfielder.
“I would be okay (when Liverpool are awarded the title, ed.). You have to stay sporty,” Gundogan said in conversation with ZDF. In addition to the possible championship, the financial interests also pass by. For example, many players turn in salary so that their clubs can remain financially healthy. “Of course I would agree with that,” said the midfielder.
Yet Gundogan sees that it is not easy for all clubs. “The lower division clubs are not having that easy,” he admits. For the City player, there is nothing else to continue training at home and wait for what will happen. “Sometimes you are afraid to go outside for ten or fifteen minutes,” Gundogan concludes.
