NEW YORK – City Harvest has announced plans for the return of its Repack to return by 2022, with the aim of helping families in each county be able to eat meals during the holidays this season.
According to the organization, the average monthly visit to food pantries and soup kitchens in New York City remains 69% higher than in 2019.
As food prices continue to rise and New Yorkers grapple with economic challenges in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, City Harvest and its partners aim to help thousands of people get enough food for the holidays.
Turkey’s prices are also abnormally high in 2022, up 60% from before the pandemic and 21% from last year.
In November and December, hundreds of corporate volunteers will join City Harvest for virtual and in-person events as part of the Repack To Give Back campaign.
Aiming to help feed thousands of families across counties, City Harvest is also accessible with multiple locations in different neighborhoods.
