The municipal council of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) gave a new mandate to Sophie Bleurel, elected by the majority, at the last meeting of the Thursday, February 11, 2021, commissioned for the “Animal in the city”.
Her role is, according to this real estate negotiator by profession, “in the extension of the Eco-City policy”.
A practical guide soon to be distributed to all residents of Chartres
The municipal councilor of Chartres is working on a project for a “guide on animals”, which will list useful contacts, but also the various species present around the Eure.
Much of this guide, which will be distributed to residents, will focus on domestic animals, namely dogs and cats. This booklet will be used to guide animal owners and inform residents who do not have one.
All, “so that everyone can live harmoniously in the same territory”.
The elected representative also wishes to raise awareness about abandonment, through a campaign before the summer period.
Affected since childhood by the animal cause
The animal wellbeing will be his priority for the next four years, “guiding is our way of acting as elected officials”.
It is a matter of society. We must make the population aware that animals are fragile beings.
Sophie Bleurel confides that this mission is “in the continuity of this [qu’elle] lived throughout [sa] life “. Her childhood spent in the countryside, she has always lived with collected or adopted animals.
The elected representative of Chartres has already contacted animal protection associations as the S.P.A or L 214.
