«A symphony in three motifs: passengers circle each other on a Mediterranean cruise ship; a sister and brother await explanations from their parents in the French countryside; an essay tour of six myths – in Egypt, Palestine, Odessa, Greece, Naples and Barcelona.»
THE BAD
«In socialism movie Godard, who is no longer there, mixes the genres and texts, music and images, the locations and characters in such a playful and at the same time analytical way that the one-off viewing only conveys a glimpse of it all. First on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean and then in a garage and gas station somewhere far away from the big world, the old magician from Lake Geneva creates a stage of this world that is not big at all, but rather confusing, sad, stubborn and accompanied by a wonderful cinematic smile. »
