Using real-life vehicles in games requires a license, which can be difficult to obtain. The authors of City Car Driving 2.0 took a creative approach to the issue
The creators of the Russian car simulator City Car Driving 2.0 summed up the results for 2023. Published a road map that reflected the results of the work and some plans.
The block “Work is still underway, the final result will be closer to release” included aspects of the game that are constantly being worked on, but are not yet ready to talk about their status.
The “Work in progress, game elements are approaching the final result” block is more informative.
The developers also noted that they did not include work as a taxi driver in the roadmap – quality is a priority:
«We cut out this mechanic from the first version of early access due to the fact that, wanting to make many mechanics, we risked making one of them simply uninteresting, or duplicating the functionality of what was already implemented. This is what happened with the taxi regime. We will try to prepare it for release in early access, but we still cannot promise you this mechanic at the start».
In the City Car Driving 2.0 road map, you can notice strange names of car models – a little trick by the developers:
«Ulgares (U) Folk G2, what is it anyway? We think we’ll just show them, and you’ll understand for yourself which car is the real prototype».
