The largest A-class film festival in Northern Europe “Black Nights / PÖFF” in Tallinn has announced a full competition program, and this selection also includes the feature film “City by the River” by Latvian director Viesturs Kairiss, which will have its international premiere on Latvia’s birthday on November 18. representatives of the cinema center.

The Tallinn Film Festival, which will take place from 13 to 29 November, has named 17 more films at the press conference, joining eight already announced in September, and the full program of the international competition is now fully known.

Viesturs Kairiss’s feature film “City by the River” is shown internationally under the title “The Sign Painter”.

The Tallinn Film Festival “Black Nights” has previously announced the format of this year’s event, which will be adapted to the current situation, but also live events, including film premieres. The full program of the Tallinn Festival will be announced on November 6, the Baltic competition show on October 27.

Director Viesturs Kairiss’s feature film “City by the River”, shot at the studio “Ego Media”, had its national premiere on January 17, 2020. The film has earned 15 nominations It is still available to the audience for the National Film Award “Kristaps the Great” online.
