New York. After around three months of restrictions due to the corona pandemic, the first easing will be allowed in the metropolis of New York from Monday. In the first of four two-week relaxation phases, operations can then start up again on construction sites and non-system-relevant shops can sell their goods, for example, from the front door. In the fourth phase, cultural institutions, among other things, may then reopen.
The metropolis was the last of ten regions in the state of New York to meet all seven conditions for the start of the relaxation phases – for example, sufficient free hospital beds and sufficient tests. Hygiene and distance rules continue to apply. If the numbers worsen, the process can be stopped or rolled back at any time.
