City and urban renewal – Schwarzenau community starts citizen participation process for future vision

Listen. Understand. Implementation – This was the motto under which the city’s opening ceremony and urban renewal listening tour was held in the community center of the market town of Schwarzenau. Several citizens participated in the event to actively participate in the development of the community.

“It is important for me to involve the public through such forms and listen to their concerns – because who knows better than the citizens how our community should develop in the future,” said the Mayor Karl Elsigan.

Audition tour as a special offer

The format of the listening tour is a special offer that is intended to strengthen and support the dialogue between municipal politics, municipal administration and the public. During the event, citizens spoke to the King Karl Elsigan. Schwarzenau Township Renewal and Beautification Association chair, Helga Kargl, also reported on the association’s current activities and was available to answer questions.

Topics discussed included, among other things, the traffic situation due to the community’s location on a busy federal highway, health, care and retirement provision and the youth club being implemented as- Yes. When looking to the future, the focus was, among other things, on the preservation of public resources, the creation of community support initiatives, but also ideas for the currently unused Schwarzenau Castle.

The tour stops in Schwarzenau, Stögersbach and Großhaselbach

The first event took place in the cadastral community of Schwarzenau. The second stop was at the Stögersbach fire station, and the tour ends on May 13 at the Gasthaus Döller in Großhaselbach. “We believe in the power of personal dialogue and therefore support communities in understanding the needs of the people in their communities and implementing them in concrete projects,” said Martin Ruhrhofer, Managing Director Village & Urban Renewal.

Parallel to the events, wishes, concerns and suggestions from the public are collected through several comment boxes that have been set up around the city – and an online version of them is also available. All products will be presented on June 4 in the community center and further developed in a workshop afterwards. At the end of the process, a community vision should emerge, which is an important guide for the long-term strategic development of the community.
