The day after the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, the residents of Wałbrzych will have the opportunity to see a film set in the reality of that event. The screening is scheduled for Friday, August 2, at 9:00 p.m. in the amphitheater at Plac Teatralny.
“City 44” – The plot focuses on a group of young people who take part in a heroic fight for the freedom of the capital of Poland – the Warsaw Uprising. The film shows the dramatic events that take place in the ruined city, from the perspective of both fighters and civilians. Thanks to modern special effects and authentic reconstructions, the film captures the brutality and heroism of those days, as well as the personal tragedies of the heroes.
It is also worth watching this film for another reason. Part of the filming was done in the vicinity of Wałbrzych. The filmmakers appeared in 2013 in Walim and Świebodzice. In addition, Wrocław, Łódź and Warsaw also served as the plot background.
Admission to the show is free.
