Demand for the new Citroen My Ami Buggy has exceeded all expectations. The entire edition of the miniature electric car was sold out in just 10 hours, reports the official website of the Stellantis concern.
The electric car Citroen Ami Buggy was released in a limited series of 800 cars. The machines were sold in 8 European countries. A large part of the buyers turned out to be from the homeland of the electric car – 430 copies of My Ami Buggy were purchased in France.
Last year, Citroen offered its “sports buggy” only in France. The French then bought the print run of 50 copies in 17 and a half minutes. Initially, it was planned to release only this quantity, but at the request of customers, production of the model was resumed.
In 2023, the My Ami Buggy EV was offered for the first time outside of France, where it proved even more popular. In Belgium, all 65 copies of the mini-electric car were sold out in just 10 minutes. And a customer from Spain managed to place the order in just 70 seconds.
A third series of 200 cars is expected, which will be sold outside the EU – in Turkey, Morocco and the overseas territories of France.
The new Citroen My Ami Buggy is the all-terrain version of the miniature electric car. The car is 2.41 m long and weighs 485 kg and costs from 7,790 euros. It differs from the standard model with plastic bodywork, arches instead of doors and special protective nets on the lights and headlights.

To lighten the design, the “sports buggy” is devoid of doors. Their place is taken by tubular structures that protect the driver and passenger from accidentally falling out of the cabin. The frame and other parts of the body are made of steel.

The Citroen Ami electric car is equipped with a modest 8 horsepower engine and a 5.5 kWh battery. It develops 45 km/h and has a reserve of 70 km after charging. In a number of European countries, driving such a low-powered car does not require a driver’s license. /auto.blitz.bg
