Jakarta –
After 29 years of ‘disappearance’, Citroen through the Indomobil Group umbrella finally made a comeback to Indonesia and started selling vehicles in December 2022. However, during those four months, Citroen was only able to sell 50 units of vehicles to consumers.
Indomobil Group Advisory Board, Tan Kim Piauw said, of the 50 vehicles, 90 percent were donated by Citroen C3 as the cheapest product. Meanwhile, 10 percent is shared between the C5 Aircross and the e-C4 electric car.
“Until today, we have received about 50 orders for Citroen cars. We think that for a new brand, this figure is quite satisfying,” said Tan when met in East Jakarta, Wednesday night (5/4).
Tan explained, the customers in question were those who had deposited some funds at the beginning. Meanwhile, according to him, there are hundreds of consumers who are interested in buying and have registered their names.
Furthermore, Tan added, the 50 units of vehicles that have been ordered will most likely be delivered at the end of this month or early next month at the latest. So, the vehicle cannot be used for Lebaran homecoming.
“We plan delivery cars to consumers is likely at the end of April or at the latest in early May,” he said.
It is known, Citroen Indonesia currently only has three products which were all launched together in December 2022. Their best-selling vehicle, the Citroen C3, is a low SUV imported entirely from India. Meanwhile, Citroen C5 Aircross and e-C4 are CBU products from France.
As the manufacturer’s cheapest product, the Citroen C3 starts at IDR 225 million with status on the road Jakarta. While the Citroen C5 Aircross is estimated at IDR 1.064 billion and the Citroen e-C4 electric car IDR 1.196 billion.
