The French car manufacturer Citroen has presented the new generation e-C3 model, which will be available exclusively in electric form. The manufacturer promises that the car will travel 320 kilometers on a single charge.
The new e-C3 is built on the Stellantis Group’s Smart Car platform, but is equipped with a 44kWh LFP type battery. As I already wrote, in the WLTP cycle this means 320 kilometers on a single charge. The car is moved forward by a 113 horsepower electric motor placed on the front axle. Acceleration to 100km/h will take 11 seconds, while the maximum charging power is 100kW, which is actually very good for a car of this price.
At least initially, the machine is planned to be sold in two equipment levels, but this may depend on the specific country. The basic package includes LED lights, rear parking sensors, cruise control – in short, everything you need. When the customer chooses the most expensive package, we get 17-inch alloy wheels, body paint in two colors, electrically folding, heated side mirrors, automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charger and other little things.
Citroen did not hide in advance that they want to offer an electric car available to the masses, and this is exactly what they have achieved with their pricing policy – prices will start from 23-24 thousand euros, but the better equipped version will most likely approach or exceed the 30 thousand threshold. The manufacturer has revealed that next year it will offer an even more austere, cheaper version – this version of the e-C3, which is still in the making, will be able to travel 200 kilometers on a single charge. In this version, the car will cost 20 thousand euros.
