Their place has been taken, in large part, by SUVs and, to a lesser extent, by multispaces made from commercial vehicles (such as Volkswagen Caddy, Renault Kangoo and others). In fact, in the Citroen range you can find three alternatives to the Grand C4 Space Tourer, the C5 Aircrossthe C5 X and the eSpacetourer.

DA PICASSO A GRAND C4 SPACE TOURER – It was in 2006, at the Paris Motor Show of that year, that the plate made its debut C4 Picassoa model that supports the Xsara Picasso and that is positioned on a higher step than the latter. A HISTORY LASTING ALMOST THIRTY YEARS – From Citroën the one for the minivan it was a love that lasted almost thirty years: it was 1994 when he made his debut in the category with theEvasion (ie the “sister” of the Fiat Ulysse) then replaced in 2022 by the C8 (remained in range until 2014). At the same time, again in the 90s, there was the launch of the Xsara Picasso, which produced from 1999 to 2012 reached 1.76 million units sold. Also part of this segment of cars is the smallest C3 Picasso (657,807 models sold) was launched in 2009, made its exit from the scene in 2019 after a 10-year career.

THE LATEST REMAINS – The Citroën also stated that the Grand C4 Space Tourer will be thelast of its kind, in fact, he confirmed that the characteristics of this car can be found in the C5 X and C5 Aircross. With the farewell of the French minivan, the choice on the European market of this type of vehicle is also thinned: for example the Volkswagen Touran, the Ford Galaxy and the S-Max, the Renault Scenic and the Espace, however these are models of which the renewal is not yet foreseen, which therefore heralds the end of the category.
