The new Citroën C4 borrows the stylistic assets of the SUV.
Citroën returns to the compact segment with an original C4 in more ways than one. Classic sedans are no longer popular? Never mind, the new Citroën C4 borrows the stylistic assets of the SUV (increased ground clearance, enveloping protections, etc.) which it combines with a tapered profile and a plunging roof drop for which the designers say they be inspired by the GS, whose brand celebrates the 50th anniversary. The practical aspects are nevertheless taken care of, with a record legroom for the category in the rear seats and a 380-liter trunk. To take care of the comfort of its occupants, this new C4 adopts suspensions with hydraulic stops of particularly studied seats.
If the interior also surprises with its sobriety compared to the exterior, two details draw attention: the presence of a drawer in addition to the classic glove box, and a retractable support for tablet facing the front passenger. Alongside the petrol (Puretech 100 and 130 and 155 hp) and diesel (BlueHDI 100 and 130) engines, the new C4 receives an electric motor combining a 52 kWh battery which powers a 100 kW (136 hp) engine. Autonomy is announced at 350 km in this case. And thanks to the fast charge, 10 minutes will be enough to recover 100 km of autonomy.
