Last Sunday, the citizens’ committee “Les Ami.es du boisé Colonial” invited families from this same neighborhood to a big party at Parc Colonial.
Games, snacks and especially discovery rallies to raise awareness of flora and fauna, constituting the richness of the woodland, aroused the interest of the participating families. Thanks to a generous contribution from the Aiglon Indigo company, around fifty red maple shoots were distributed.
Les Incroyables Comestibles de Victoriaville also donated various edible plants and the city of Victoriaville contributed to the purchase of snacks and the loan of equipment. This beautiful support chain made it possible to offer everything free of charge to all participating families.
The citizens’ committee “Les Ami.es du boisé Colonial” was created in March 2020 following a strong enthusiasm on the part of the residents of the neighborhood towards the trails crisscrossing the Boisé Colonial. The committee’s mission is to implement all the necessary means to preserve the Colonial woodland and its biodiversity, while allowing sustainable recreational and community use.
The committee invites citizens to follow the progress of the Colonial woodland conservation project by joining the Facebook group “Les Ami.es du boisé Colonial”.
