Citizens reject Abdala vaccine, little participation in modules – Diario de Xalapa

Veracruz, Ver.- With very low citizen participation, the Covid winter vaccination day began this Monday in the suburban area of Veracruz-Boca del Río.

Elderly and young people went to the vaccination modules, some to receive a booster and others to be vaccinated for the first time.

Most of the elderly accepted the application of the drug “Abdala”, however the youth population complained that this vaccine does not serve as proof for traveling abroad, as well as expressing fear of reactions that could threaten their health.

They expressed hope that Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be applied, which are approved by international medical authorities and serve as proof of entry into other countries.

“It doesn’t seem to me that they have brought a single vaccine, that they don’t know if it’s approved, if it has any effects, I decided not to get vaccinated, it was the first time but it’s better that you wait because I’m afraid of a reaction, people don’t know “, underlined Ulises Rosa, one of the young people who arrived at the module.

A portion of the participants indicated they would wait for another date to apply the booster vaccine, but hope it will be another chemical supplied.

While some older adults asked to trust the authorities and apply this vaccine.

“I think if they are applying it, it’s fine, I don’t think they want to hurt us, on the contrary, the campaigns have been done and that has saved us,” said Santiago Vela.
