Stores in the UK offer a limit on the number of certain products that consumers can get, the Guardian reported.
This is a consequence of delayed imports from other countries. Many large stores are looking for an option to guarantee products for all users.
The main shortage is of vegetables, such as tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. The Association of Producers announced that the country does not have a harvest of these vegetables.
This is due to high costs, which has slowed down their cultivation. In previous years, the harvest started in this period, but now it will start in May.
It is recalled that food production is planned years ahead and there is no option for different plans. The main store brands in the country have announced that for a certain period they will allow the purchase of only up to three tomatoes, peppers and other types.
The British government is trying to ensure speedy imports.
