On Saturday, August 24, citizens will have the opportunity to talk to people from Münster’s music scene about the plans for the music campus. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the so-called music advisory committee will be providing information about the current status and goals of the project at a stand on Michaelisplatz next to the weekly market.
The committee that is overseeing the planning process includes experts from Münster’s independent music scene – for example from choirs and bands – the Westphalian School of Music, the city’s symphony orchestra and the music academy, all of which are to be given modern teaching, rehearsal and performance opportunities on campus.
The music campus is a joint project between the city and the university. The aim is to create a cultural venue of national importance in Münster – open to everyone. Next week, the cultural committee will discuss the proposal to hold an urban development and open space competition for the Einsteinstrasse/Hittorfstrasse location.
