Citizens accuse the local government of hiding Spanish | Radio Elche

The Spokesperson for Citizens in the City Council of Elche, Eva María Crisol, has denounced again that there is informational and traffic signs in the municipality only in Valencian. Crisol has explained that already in 2017 they denounced that the Law was breached in this matter because the signals are only in Valencian.

Then some signs were changed to appear in the two official languages, but from Citizens they denounce that the law is being violated again.

The mayor of has reiterated that his warning is not an attack on Valencian but a defense of Castilian. Accuse PSOE and Compromís of breaking the law to the detriment of Castilian and they announce to go to court.

In 2017 Ciudadanos presented a motion for the normalization of city signage. In it, it was claimed not only the inclusion required by Law of Castilian along with Valencian, as co-official languages ​​that coexist, it also claimed the inclusion of english in those cases where possible, as an element that enhances tourism for the municipality.
