Citizen of Liberty competes for the crown of Missouri

Missouri candidates from across the state, their directors and their families will travel to the heart of Missouri on Sunday, June 12 to kick off a week filled with rehearsals, talent shows, interviews and evening gowns at the Missouri Military Academy.

“Throughout the week, Missouri candidates will participate in a variety of activities, culminating on Saturday afternoon with a gathering for area residents at Court Park, located in central Mexico,” said a statement about the competition.

Preliminary competition begins Tuesday, June 14 and runs through Friday, June 17. Missouri’s new organization will culminate on Saturday, June 18 by saying goodbye to Missouri Cali Cox. Following her coronation, the new Miss Missouri will begin a hectic schedule of preparations for the Miss America pageant and competition, scheduled for later this year.

This year’s group of nominees includes Miss Kansas City International, Natalia Knock of Liberty. She studies at the University of Mississippi where she majors in Accounting, Intelligence, Securities and a minor in Latin America. She is the daughter of Trey and Janet Knock from Liberty.

As part of the Alpha competition group, Natalya will have her interview with the judges on Wednesday morning, followed by a red carpet look during the preliminary competition on Wednesday night. On Thursday, she will perform a singing dance in front of the jury and the audience. The preliminary competition will conclude on Friday when Natalia presents the Social Impact Statement for her #BeEngaged initiative,” reads a statement from her.

Natalya describes her social impact initiative as “#BeEngaged, a movement that primarily builds civic engagement with students. As Miss Kansas City International, I work to provide resources for people to become active within their communities.”

The Miss Missouri Scholarship Organization is one of the largest providers of scholarships for young women in the state. This year, the organization will award more than $85,000 in scholarships between Missouri and Outstanding Teens Programs.
