Citizen Committee seeks to create support in San Antonio de Ibarra

As part of the actions that are being carried out in San Antonio de Ibarra after his declaration as PMagic Town of Ecuador there is the promotion of the title at the local and national level, that is why a Citizen Committee was created made up of different inhabitants of the parish.

The same, as explained by Sandra Potosí, president of said Committee, will help promote the tourist reactivation of the place by carrying out different actions. One of them was the socialization of the title among the entire community, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic, had to be carried out in a first stage combining virtuality with the face-to-face part.
The intervention polygon and the elaboration of the tourist circuit for San Antonio were also determined, with which it is wanted to regenerate different spaces and thus attract tourists.

One of the main actions they have done is to put up signs so that those who come to the parish know the different options they have to move around the site and how to do it.

Also the creation of promotional videos and the generation of conversation spaces with tour operators so that they take San Antonio into account. “We live off tourism,” added Potosí, adding that as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the arrival of foreign tourists dropped considerably, so now the actions will be focused on national citizens knowing everything that San Antonio offers in the city. artistic, cultural, gastronomic and another part so that they return to see it as a pleasant parish to know.

Potosí mentioned that the Committee is constantly looking for people who can support them in the creation of projects in different areas such as sports, art, food and others to give ideas and create plans that help reactivation.

Potosí added that the ideal is that they are citizens of the place and that they do it by vocation, since there is no remuneration for it. “More is the will to promote tourism,” he concluded.
