Citizen beaten to death for stealing cattle in Matala – Jornal OPaís

A 35-year-old citizen was brutally beaten in Kapelongo commune, Matala municipality, Huíla province, when he was trying to steal goats with a friend. Unlike his friend, he did not resist aggression and met death.

The 35-year-old citizen was caught by three individuals who claimed to be the guardians of Canuangolo village, in the commune of Kapelongo, when, together with their friend, they were trying to steal a citizen’s goats. Data given to the press yesterday by the spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Huíla, Inspector Segunda Quitumba, show that the incident took place on the 10th of the current month and year.

“The SIC proceeded on the morning of the 12th, Saturday, around 10:00 am, in the commune of Capelongo, Canuangolo sector, to arrest three citizens aged between 43 and 56 years, for the practice of crimes of qualified homicide on grounds of reasons and serious offense to physical integrity, on the 11th of the current month and year. The action resulted in the death of a 35-year-old citizen and left another, 39-year-old, in serious condition,” he said.

Those involved, as defenders of the community, detained the perpetrators and attacked them with punches and sticks, which ended in the immediate death of one of them, leaving the other citizen in a serious condition. According to the spokesperson, the other victim is in serious condition receiving care at the Municipal Hospital of Matala. “In relation to the citizen who is hospitalized, under police surveillance, as soon as he is discharged, he will certainly be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and, subsequently, to the Guarantee Judge for the decision of his prison situation”, assured the door. -voice.
