“Citilink Flight Delayed Due to Technical Problems: Sandiaga Uno Shares Experience”

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno recounted his experience going up Citilink had failed to fly due to technical problems. He and other passengers had to wait 1 hour to depart on a different plane.

The story was shared by Sandiaga on his official Instagram account @sandiuno. He appreciated Citilink because it was considered to have moved quickly to make the decision to cancel flights when there were technical problems.

“Appreciation to @citilink because GERCEP made the decision to cancel the flight due to technical problems. From the runway, the plane returned to the yard and all passengers only waited 1 hour to be able to depart again on a different plane,” said Sandiaga, Thursday (27/4/ 2023).


After waiting finally Sandiaga together with all passengers arrived safely at Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang. According to him, safety is the main priority, so it doesn’t matter if you only have to wait 1 hour.

“Great, Citilink! Passenger safety and security is a priority,” he said.

Citilink explanation

Citilink explained that the incident occurred on Citilink QG 792 flight for the Jakarta (CGK) – Semarang (SRG) route on April 27 2023. There was a flight delay of 1 hour due to technical difficulties.

“Flight QG 792 on the Jakarta-Semarang route experienced a flight delay (delay) for 1 hour due to technical problems with the aircraft when it was about to make a flight which was previously scheduled for 07.15 local time,” explained Head of Corporate Secretary & CSR Division of PT Citilink Indonesia, Haza Ibnu Rashad.

The flight, which was originally scheduled for 07.15, became 08.45 local time using a replacement plane. All passengers are said to have landed safely in Semarang at 09.45 local time.

“Citilink officers have also provided an explanation to the passengers on the flight and passengers can accept the explanation given properly, and we have provided on-ground service to all passengers in accordance with flight delay service procedures,” he said.

For this incident, Citilink apologized to all passengers for the inconvenience caused.

“Citilink always prioritizes aspects of flight safety and security, therefore we always try early on to anticipate things that have the potential to disrupt flight safety and security,” he concluded.
