Cities: Skylines 2 Screenshots Show Incredible Visual Quality and Technological Progress in City-Building Simulators

In a post on the Cities: Skylines subreddit, user InfinityPortal noted the amazing visual quality that modern city building simulators can achieve. Using screenshots from his city built in Cities: Skylines 2 as an example, he demonstrated the technological progress that the Colossal Order studio has achieved.

It looks truly amazing, as if it were stills from a miniature-style cinematic.

Especially this shot:

Obviously, it took the gamer a lot of time to create such a city. The player clearly used various tools to fill the city with details, rather than just laying out buildings in boring blocks.

Looking at these shots, I want to take up the construction of my own city, so that later I can consider how the life of its inhabitants flows.

In the comments to the post, users agreed that modern technologies really make it possible to achieve impressive photorealism and detail in such strategies. Although some have rightly noted that Cities: Skylines with mods also looks decent, they still do not improve the picture to this level.

True, to enjoy such a picture with a high frame rate, you need a fairly powerful PC. Preferably an RTX 3070 Ti video card and 32 GB of RAM. Well, you need a good processor to simulate the life of such a busy city.

In the meantime, we are waiting for the release of official modding tools. These should be out soon, allowing modders to add even more features and improve the game.
