NEW YORK — Many New Yorkers use Citi Bikes as one of their primary modes of transportation to get to their destinations in New York City.
Those who use these bikes for city commuting will have to pay a little more this year.
That’s because the bike-sharing program will increase the prices of the annual Citi Bike membership and day pass starting January 29. This means that the annual pass will go from $185 to $205 per year and the day pass from $15 to $19. Also, a single ride will go from $3.99 to $4.99.
Other prices will increase from January 5th. Reduced rate Bike Share members will continue to pay $5 per month.
The company noted that the pricing changes help support a major reduced fare equity program for more than 3 million rides, representing 10% of all Citi Bike rides each year and growing.
Citi Bike currently supports jobs for nearly 1,000 New Yorkers with more stations and bikes expected to be added in 2023.

- Rates for additional travel time beyond the included 45 minute time will increase to $0.17 per minute.
- Electric bike rates will increase to $0.17 per minute.
Pink Lyft
- No change in monthly or annual subscription price.
- No change to the number of bike rides included – twelve free unlocks per year.
- Overtime charges, for rides that exceed 30 minutes inclusive, will increase to $0.17 per minute.
- Electric bike rates will increase to $0.17 per minute.
Individual trips for non-members
- The unlock fee will increase to $4.49. In 2022, it was $3.99.
- Overtime rates, for journeys exceeding 30 minutes included, will increase to $0.26 per minute.
- Electric bike rates will increase to $0.26 per minute.
Day ticket for non-members
- The day pass price will increase to $19. It was $15.
- There are no changes to overtime rates.
- Electric bike rates will increase to $0.26 per minute.
