Citigroup is actively recruiting a seasoned technologist to take a leadership role within its Equities Technology organization. Teh ideal candidate will drive the architecture and technological advancement of Citi’s electronic trading connectivity and Order Management System (OMS) platforms on a global scale. This pivotal system serves as the primary gateway to Citi’s equities trading platform, catering to thousands of clients worldwide.

The role is critical in delivering differentiated service & a consistent trading experience across various geographies for our clients. This highlights the importance of maintaining a unified and high-quality trading habitat for Citi’s diverse global clientele.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

The senior technologist will be instrumental in ensuring architectural and design consistency across different regions. Adherence to stringent latency targets is paramount, along with maintaining high standards of code quality. Continuous advancement of delivery processes,including automated testing,DevOps,and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices,is also a key focus.

This leadership position involves hands-on coding and providing design guidance to the global engineering team. Collaboration with other electronic Trading leaders is essential for setting the design direction of Citi’s global low-latency trading frameworks.

  • Design, advancement, and support of high-performance electronic trading systems.
  • Partnering with business users, quantitative researchers, and clients on product development.
  • Managing and supporting a global team of developers and QA specialists.
  • Continuous improvements of SDLC processes including Agile delivery,automated testing,CI/CD pipelines & support processes.
  • Envisioning, designing, and implementing test cases for trading functions.

Essential Skills and Experience

The role demands specialized expertise in low-latency trading techniques, including zero garbage collection methods and performance tuning of operating system and network interactions. Prior experience in building low-latency, high-throughput systems with microsecond precision is a necessity.

Specifically, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with strong technical knowledge in either Java or C++.
  • Demonstrable expertise in low-latency trading, zero garbage techniques, and performance tuning of OS & network interactions.
  • Prior experience in leading global development teams.
  • Previous experience in developing E-Trading trading platforms. Strong knowledge of FIX protocol.
  • A strong understanding of automated testing techniques.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC practices including Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration processes.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrable ability to present & grasp complex concepts in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
