Companies registered in Latvia will be able to open an account in “Citadel” remotely, within an average of 20 minutes, the bank’s representatives inform.

To qualify for remote account opening, the company must be registered in Latvia and a company representative with sole signature rights must use a qualified electronic signature for identification (SmartID QES, eSignature eID and eSignature mobile) and signing the application. If the entrepreneur qualifies for all the criteria, it takes up to 20 minutes to open an account, and the entrepreneur can immediately use a bank account and make payments in the Internet bank, while receiving a bank card by mail. In order to open an account completely digitally, the company’s monthly turnover must not exceed 30 thousand euros.
“Time is an important resource and companies value the digital availability of banking services at a time and place convenient to them. We have created a digital ecosystem where small and medium-sized businesses can remotely become a bank customer and receive all the necessary e-commerce tools , which means that both existing and new companies can start their digital business journey and start serving their customers in a few hours. In the pilot phase, more than 100 companies have already used the opportunity to open an account remotely, “says the bank.Citadel“Member of the Board Vladislav Mironov.
Prompt communication is the most important precondition for successful cooperation with a bank or any other cooperation partner – 69% of local entrepreneurs indicate, according to a survey conducted by the research agency “Norstat”. Also, 62% of respondents acknowledged that the possibility to receive financial and other services remotely is very important, thus saving time.
In the spring of this year, the research agency “Norstat” surveyed 516 Latvian companies about the use of digital services.
