CISSS: update on the latest cases of COVID-19

The Côte-Nord CISSS (Integrated Center for Social Services) provided an update on the last cases of COVID-19 reported in recent days.

With the three cases at the Scierie des Outardes and the two cases in Minganie, Dr. Richard Fachehoun wanted to reiterate the importance of respecting the measures. Among those affected, two are hospitalized and three are in segregation at home. Of the three sawmill cases, one concerns a regular worker who does not reside on the North Shore.

Among recent cases, three have tested positive without showing symptoms. the public health consultant also insisted on the fact that the health services pay special attention in order to find people without symptoms, because they transmit the disease a lot.

All the sawmill staff will be tested. For this, new time slots have been opened in screening centers. Dr Fachehoun clarified that due to the forecast weather this weekend, it is not possible to deploy staff on site. But it will be if the tests are not completed by Monday.

He then wished to recall that COVID-19 is still circulating in the region and that it is important to make the right choices while protecting yourself and others.

The interim president and chief executive officer, Claude Lévesque, reassured the public by specifying that the CISSS is working tirelessly to be able to react in the event of an increase in the number of cases.
