CIRCLE OF TRUTH tells the life story of the sisters Helga Feldner-Busztin and Elisabeth Scheiderbauer from Vienna, who were deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto/concentration camp with their mother at the ages of seven and fourteen. The father came to Auschwitz. The family miraculously survived.
The memoirs of Helga and Elisabeth paint a comprehensive picture of the Nazis’ murderous reign of terror. In the film, the two sisters share their memories with the audience, and international artists such as Iris Berben, Konstantin Wecker and others transform moments of suffering into contemporary art. 2D animations also combine space, place and time to create an overall visual image.
The film is a journey through time from hell to light, and is touching on many levels – through the openness with which the two contemporary witnesses report their martyrdom without hatred or bitterness, as well as through the emotional contributions of the artists involved.
