“Cipinang Detention Center Head Denies Claims of Mobile Drug Dealers and Illegal Practices Behind Bars”

Head of Cipinang State Detention Center denies allegations of illegal activities behind bars

The Head of the Cipinang State Detention Center, Ali Sukarno, has denied claims made by actor Tio Pakusadewo on Kuya TV’s Youtube channel that there were illicit businesses of illegal drugs, cell phones, food, drinking water, and mattresses behind bars. In a written statement received by Tempo, Ali called Tio’s claims “misleading disinformation” and clarified that there were no indications of luxurious rooms in all blocks, and there is no block only for the corruption convicts (Tipikor) in the Cipinang Class I Detention Center. He also stated that mattresses were being gradually distributed to inmates in each block and the last distribution was carried out on March 16, 2023, with a total of 635 mattresses at the Cipinang Detention Center.
