PSD President Marcel Ciolacu praises PNL Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă, emphasizing that he has frequent meetings with him. “We constantly consult each other, meet and talk often on the phone. Maybe this is why certain colleagues suspect that we make decisions outside the party,” said Ciolacu in the show “La final”, from Prima News.

The social-democratic leader goes further, letting it be understood that fierce disputes are currently taking place in the PNL, but that he wants Nicole Ciucă to remain at the helm of the right-wing formation.

“I hope that the black period in the PNL ends – as it also happened with us in the PSD. I hope he entered a construction zone and in the PNL”, said Marcel Ciolacu. He added that Romania needs the two “mature parties”, PSD and PNL.

“I tell you that even after 2024, I see a broad coalition between the two parties, PSD and PNL. We haven’t discussed yet, no decision has been made, but I believe that together with Mr. Ciucă we can create a future from 2024 as well, in a coalition or even an alliance,” said Ciolacu.
