It is said that in the past, the half-hectare lake became the location for the disposal of corpses during the riots in the past.
The Head of Cigugur Sub-district, Dr. Erik Krisna Yuda, confirmed this on Wednesday (11/3/2021).
He said, local people still think Cioe lake is scary.
In addition to being the location for the disposal of corpses, in this lake there was also said to be a terrible event.
According to the story, in the lake there is an animal that is the size of a coconut tree and has a long body.
The giant hole or shelter once preyed on a resident’s cow.
“A resident’s cow not far from the lake was grabbed by a hole and taken into the water,” said Erik.

Before dying, the cow continued to make the sound Oe, oe.
“So the lake was named Cioe, that’s the story,” he said.
Erik continued that the lake was formed hundreds of years ago.
Although it has a beautiful panorama and natural atmosphere, this lake has not become a tourist location.
