Cinemas in Russia will open on July 15 – Culture

MOSCOW, June 29. / TASS /. Cinemas in the Russian Federation will be able to resume work from July 15. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Cinemas open on July 15,” he said.

Cinemas closed at the end of March on behalf of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova due to the situation with the spread of coronavirus. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a briefing in early June said that the resumption of cinemas is planned for mid-July. As specified in the Ministry of Culture, the exact date of the resumption of the cinema will be determined after consultation with the regional authorities.

Chernyshenko added that cultural and tourism organizations are resuming normal operations in Russia.

“We see that all organizations of leisure and recreation are currently experiencing a period of recovery, rebirth. We see the enthusiasm of workers in the field of tourism, sports, culture. People really miss work and are finally returning to normal life,” he said.

He also recalled that cultural life in the regions resumes with the opening of museums. Visitors are already waiting in federal museums in Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kaluga, Moscow. From mid-June, he recalled, the Arkhangelskoye estate museum was opened near Moscow.
