oooo Everything will be fine. A brave and open documentary in which director Stanislav Tokalov films his family – mostly his mother and his over 90-year-old grandmother. The film takes place in the narrowness of small apartments and over several years depicts the parallel information and social space in which some of our fellow human beings live. Putin’s New Year’s Eve speeches and a visit to the now-demolished monument on May 9 are on the agenda here. In a non-declarative manner, the director has “captured in action” the myths deliberately maintained by Russia, which force a large number of people to live in a paradoxical in-between state – not really in Latvia, not really in Russia. The film is an important observation in the documentary genre, which requires special courage: to talk about an extremely complicated topic, using my family as an example. Screening on March 3 at 19 in the cinema Splendid Palace.
