Guests expected by the organizers Bertelsmann and Ufa included Holocaust survivor Margot Friedländer, director Leander Haußmann and actress Andrea Sawatzki, who is also the patron of this year’s film nights.

The performance of “Saxophon Susi” was accompanied by the film orchestra The Sprockets based on a composition by their saxophonist Frido ter Beek. Jazz and dance enthusiasm are the overarching themes of the comedy, in which two young friends swap their identities, as stated in the announcement of the film.

Also on this year’s programme is the documentary film “The City of Millions. A Portrait of Berlin” (1925) and a double feature of two early films by Ernst Lubitsch: “Kohlhiesel’s Daughters” (1919/1920) and “I Don’t Want to Be a Man” (1918).
