La valanga azzurra is coming to the cinema.
The film “La valanga azzurra” is a huge success. On Saturday the documentary about the fantastic skiing success of Gustav Thöni, Paolo De Chiesa & Co. in South Tyrol will be released in the cinema.

Sold-out cinemas, long queues to sign autographs and take selfies, standing ovations for the champions from back then and in the middle of it all, always the same ski hero from back then: Gustav Thöni.
The documentary about the “valanga azzurra”, the azure ski avalanche at the beginning of the 1970s, which was released in selected cinemas two weeks ago, is an outstanding success with audiences. This Saturday, November 2nd, the tour through all of Italy (including Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence) ends in Bolzano. There are two performances at Cineplexx, one at 8 p.m. and another at 8:30 p.m.
Thöni, Plank & Co. will be in Bolzano
Almost all of the ski heroes from back then will be represented in the Bolzano cinema, such as Gustav Thöni, Piero Gros, Paolo De Chiesa, the former speed specialists Herbert Plank and Marcello Varalla, the wife of the unforgettable Erwin Stricker, Linda Stricker and director Giovanni Veronesi, who directed the film turned.

Current ski superstar Sofia Goggia was also there at the premiere in Rome two weeks ago and was happy to be photographed with Gustav Thöni and Piero Gros. Thöni won the overall World Cup four times (1971, 1972, 1973, 1975), Piero Gros once (1974). Then followed the great era of the greatest ski racer of all time, Ingemar Stenmark.
