The Czech Republic is currently falling into Level 5 restrictions. The cinemas can be occupied to 25% and there are no tier 3 sales of food and beverages. The local operators do not anticipate reopening before April 2021.

Danish citizens protested against plans to obtain a digital “passport” for a vaccine that could be used in cinemas, for example.

Cinemas can be used up to 50% and there is no sale of food or drinks. Many large operators have chosen not to open the door again as these restrictions make it very difficult. However, over 180 independent venues are open.

Cinemas in major cities including Bucharest are allowed 30% with a curfew at 9 p.m.

As of the beginning of 2021, 97% of Russian cinemas reopened in 83 of the country’s 85 regions. More than half of the open theaters still have capacity limits of 70% to 15%.

While operation is theoretically allowed, many Spanish cinemas closed their doors at the end of 2020 due to a lack of content and the local restriction measures being sophisticated.
