The fratricidal war within the Gucci family in the 70s in House of Gucci. The Napoleonic Wars at the end of the 18th century in Napoleon. And finally the gladiator fights and conflicts that may have punctuated the tumultuous Roman History during Antiquity in Gladiator II.

Timothée Chalamet, Miles Teller, Austin Butler and Richard Madden were considered for the role of Lucius, successor to Russell Crowe / Maximus, but it was ultimately Paul Mescal who was chosen by Ridley Scott, in particular thanks to his physique and his many shirtless scenes in the play A Streetcar Named Desire.

Barry Keoghan leaves Rome

If this second part comes out twenty-four years after the first opus, Ridley Scott is already planning to make a third! In any case, this is what he confided in an interview with the magazine First : “I’m already toying with the idea of a Gladiator 3! No, really! I lit the fuse!“
