The back of the truck can be converted into a foyer with cash register and bar. Neon signage and poster boards outside and 15 cushioned folding chairs inside the cinema truck are meant to create a cinematic atmosphere. There are film screenings every hour and a half. “The cinema lacks nothing that is known from traditional cinemas”, Kaufmann is proud of his project, on which he worked for 10 years.
Start am Praterstern
The truck is now parked at the Vienna Praterstern until New Year’s Eve. In the future, however, the cinema on four wheels will also show films in other locations. The exact location of the truck will then be announced shortly before the show begins Website announced.
Kaufmann’s first film takes up the setting of the Praterstern. “At the Praterstern, the controlled fear and adrenaline rush of the people on the Wurstprater roller coaster meets directly with the fear of the environment at the Praterstern, which is exaggerated by the media,” he explains.
