The student-run arthouse cinema “Lichtblick” has been organizing a film series in the Pollux cinema every semester since 2003, featuring selected classics, cult films and curiosity are shown. In the new program for the summer semester 2024, “CineCity”, the focus is on the city in film. Whether realistically recorded or fantastically staged, the city has a special interest in film. As a result of the urbanization of the 20th century, a mass culture emerged in which cinema also played its part. But the city and film are also closely linked. Industry, fast transport and high population density mark the city as a place of acceleration.
