On Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at 7:30 p.m., the Bad Orb cinema will show the German tragicomedy “One For The Road” with Frederick Lau and Nora Tschirner. In the film, Frederick Lau loses his driver’s license after driving drunk and decides not to touch a drop of alcohol until he gets it back. But this is surprisingly difficult for him. Can Nora Tschirner perhaps help him?

Mark (Frederick Lau) is the construction manager of a huge construction site in Berlin and can’t relax even in the evenings when he attends important business dinners and then throws himself into the nightlife partying. His solution to not being crushed under the many tasks is: alcohol. Where others have long since given up, he usually thinks hard and fast: There’s one more to go!
Actually, Mark just wants to quickly move his car to another parking space one night. But then the police suddenly stand next to him and in his drunken state he can immediately say goodbye to his driver’s license. He is even given a medical-psychological examination (MPU) as a punitive measure.
His best friend Nadim (Burak Yiğit) then suggests a bet to Mark: Mark shouldn’t touch any more alcohol until he can drive again. But what was initially laughed at as a simple resolution turns out to be easier to make than to implement. Especially when Mark meets Helena (Nora Tschirner) at the MPU course and falls in love with her.
