Cine Yelmo and CEAR join forces in the solidarity screening of the documentary ‘Welcome to Spain’ for the refugees from Ukraine

Helm Cinema shows its most supportive side and in collaboration with the Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid (CEAR) will screen in its rooms the documentary ‘Welcome to Spain’whose objective is raise funds for the association’s campaign, which is intended to cover the urgent needs of refugees from Ukraine. It will be on March 24 when the special pass will take place.

The screening will take place on Thursday, March 24 at 8:00 p.m. in the Yelmo Puerta de Alicante Cinema (Alicante), Yelmo Las Arenas Cinema (Las Palmas), Yelmo Ideal Cinema (Madrid), Yelmo Vialia Málaga Cinema (Málaga), Yelmo Premium Lagoh Cinema (Seville) and Yelmo Campanar Cinema (Valencia) .

Tickets will cost 10 euros, on the Cine Yelmo website (https://yelmocines.es/sinopsis/bienvenidos-a-espana) until capacity is reached. The exhibitor thus shows her social commitment by giving up her rooms in six Spanish cities.

‘Welcome to Spain’ was shown in the official selection of Hot Docs, an international documentary festival in Canada. Directed by Juan Antonio Amador and produced by Making Docthe film portrays the daily life of the refugees who are welcomed in the CEAR reception center in Torreblanca, Seville, through the experience of several protagonists from countries as diverse as Yemen, Venezuela or Morocco.

FUNDS TO COVER BASIC NEEDS FOR UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

The funds raised from this special screening will go to cover the most urgent basic needs of the refugees who are arriving from Ukraine to Spain: special health treatments, mother-child resources, basic necessities, pharmaceutical products, hygiene products or equipment for homes. In addition, CEAR has also made available, for anyone who wants to collaborate, a crowdfunding campaign in which donations can be made for this same emergency.

After the screening of the film, the public will be able to participate in a talk with a person responsible for CEAR to be able to see first-hand the work of the Commission in the face of this humanitarian crisis.
