Coatzacoalcos, Ver. January 30, 2024.- With the film “There is the Detail”, the “Cine Sillita” program will begin this Wednesday, January 31, a new season of screenings of films and short films from Mexican cinema from the golden age and from local producers, completely free and aimed at people of all ages.
This year, the venue will be the Cuauhtémoc cultural center in Coatzacoalcos, where every Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the screen will be installed on the courts of this place for the enjoyment of all the inhabitants of the area.
This was announced by the cultural promoter, Rubí del Carmen Oseguera Rueda, who highlighted that last year, in coordination with the Government chaired by Amado Cruz Malpica, they held 41 days in the dome of the Benito Juárez park in Villa Allende and in the Development Center Community (CADI) of the Constituciónntes neighborhood.
“This valuable collaboration demonstrates, once again, the Coatzacoalcos City Council’s commitment to promoting culture and entertainment for all citizens,” he said.
Accompanied by the director of Social Development, Margarita Santopietro Peralta; and the head of Culture, Christian Morales Aranda, Oseguera Rueda mentioned that in these screenings that were held from June to December 2023, 634 people attended, including children, adolescents and adults.
“Last year was a success because we had the collaboration of CADI residents and a safe space was created, and a local economy was also boosted, causing favorable comments,” he said.
“Cine Sillita” is an initiative of the Directorate of Cultural Linkage of the Ministry of Culture, operated by the Directorate of Cultural Animation of the Ministry of Culture, to which the Coatzacoalcos City Council joins, through the Headquarters of Culture.
This program consists of carrying out open-air film screening sessions aimed at audiences of all ages, which seeks to promote recreation, recreational use of free time, coexistence between attendees and enjoyment through cinematographic language. .
Citizens and all residents of Cuauhtémoc are invited to attend the screenings bringing their own chair, thus remembering the tradition of open-air cinema from the 40s and 60s, where people gathered in public spaces to enjoy of the seventh art.
At the end of each screening, a survey will be administered to film attendees to find out their opinion and collect suggestions about future titles they would like to see.
