“Cine Pueblo” returns after 30 years with a cultural initiative in Caá Catí.

More than 30 years have passed since the last performance of a cinematographic experience that included weekly projections in a private house in a local neighborhood.

Within the framework of the celebrations for the month of Caá Catí, days ago the first performance of the “Cine Pueblo” took place, an initiative of the “km0: Polo Cultural de los Esteros”.

The short films screened were “La Gloriosa” and “Crónica de una muerte anunciada” by the “Active Readers” group (made up of students from the Normal School of Caá Catí and directed by Sonia Martínez), “Reflexiones de cuarentana” by Javito Ávalos, “Corazón de Timbó” by Nahuel Fontán, with stellar performances by Horacio Fernández, Genaro Mendiondo, Maitena Burgos López and Bety Andino (present at the performance) and “Lazos de Devoción” by Silvana Siviero, a documentary about the Gómez family party – Rodríguez in honor of San Roque in the Maloyitas area (Gral. Paz) with the presence of Eleno Gómez.

The “km0: Polo Cultural de los Esteros” is a multidisciplinary and collaborative project, an initiative of the civil association of the same name that has strategic links with other associations.

The pole seeks to be a starting point of reference, of birth for the development and realization of artistic content and cultural assets, as well as academic and scientific research in tune and harmony with the environment. In this first stage of the project, in addition to the space for weekly film screening, there is an audiovisual laboratory (sound and image recording and editing room), plus a space for courses, workshops and training.
