royaltyCindy Crawford (57) is thoroughly enjoying her brief appearance in the popular Netflix series ‘The Crown’. Although Prince William (41) only shares a room with a poster of the model in the series, the two later met in real life. Crawford reflects on that meeting on Instagram.
“I vividly remember my visit to Kensington Palace to meet Princess Diana and William, then a teenager (he had just discovered ‘supermodels’),” the model wrote on Tuesday in a clip from the sixth season of ‘The Crown’. The video shows Prince Philip paying a young William a visit. In the teen’s room there are a lot of posters of supermodels, including Cindy Crawford. In addition to Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell were also mentioned by name.

Crawford previously looked back on meeting Diana and her sons in 2017. “Today I remember this inspiring woman,” she wrote with a photo with the princess. “Princess Diana somehow got my office number and called herself to ask for me,” the model explained. “She asked if I wanted to come for tea the next time I was in London. I think Prince William was just starting to discover models and she thought it would be a nice surprise for him and Prince Harry.” The model was nervous and had difficulty deciding which outfit to wear, but was quickly reassured when Diana entered the room. “It felt like I was chatting with a friend.”

That same year, William also told how he experienced that meeting. He was twelve or thirteen when he met the model, he said in the documentary ‘Diana, Our Mother’. “I turned bright red and didn’t quite know what to say. I think I almost fell on the way up,” William admitted. “But it is a very funny memory that will stay with me forever.”
